We have been certified to ISO 9001 / TickIT (the international standard for Quality Management Systems) since 1996. We have been compliant with ISO 14001 (the international standard for Environmental Management Systems) since 2009 and with ISO 27001 (the international standard for Information Security Management Systems) since 2010.

The Solution Works was formed in July 1994 by its three partners, John Shiveral, Russell Sneddon and Andrew McKelvie, and won numerous business awards for growth during the early years, including being recognised for seven consecutive years in the Scottish Fast 50 Awards.

We have been involved in development of medical software products since 1994, with VisualWorks and TheatreWorks released in 1998, Maternity in 2001, and eWARD in 2006. NHS Forth Valley continues to work closely with AMCS Group on the expansion of eWARD, and has won numerous awards for innovation and patient safety for their use of eWARD.

We have also been involved in development of environmental software since 2000, with WIMS, a product for the waste management and recycling industries released in 2002. In 2003, we expanded into the waste management and recycling industries in Ireland, and then in 2007 continued that expansion into the waste management and recycling industries in the USA, before setting up a US subsidiary in 2010. In 2010, we introduced ELEMOS, an innovative, next generation software product for the waste & recycling sector at RWM.

AMCS Group, the global leader in information solutions for the recycling and waste management industry, expanded its UK and USA operations with the acquisition of their long term partner The Solution Works in 2011.
